A gem in the heart of East Van brewery district that is a family run tap room serving up fresh oysters, beer and food. They have a large selection of beers on tap and wide section of food inspired by Chef Jeff's Scandinavian roots. Open Thursday to Sundays with live performances so a great place to hang out, have some good food and drinks.

This cozy little establishment with bar seating, tables and a small picnic table out in its main lobby.

The Valhalla platter is a must try as everything is smoked or brined in house. Pizzas are made fresh to order and oysters shucked on demand.

We had of course beer flights to go along with our spread consisting of shucked oysters, The Valhalla platter, Farmer of Evie and Eyenhallow pizza.

The oysters were perfectly shucked with no surprise shell shrapnel, muscle separated properly proving this isn't their first rodeo. The oysters were fresh, succulent tasting, tender with the right amount of snap.

Pizza was delightfully light with the right amount of crisp on the crust, thin, crunchy yet still remaining quite delicate. Toppings were fresh and plentiful, you can tell Chef Jeff takes pride in his work. With no formal culinary training he is slinging out some mean pie. This guys a mad genius.

Now onto the Valhalla, this is a must get when you are here. House brined and smoked this platter is the perfect side for enjoying multiple flights of beer. Cured meats, pickled vegetables and smoked olives... if your an olive lover these are going to blow your mind. Smoking them gives them this smokey, earthy with a slight bitterness under note. Not over powering at all but just a slight hint of smoke balances quite well with the brininess of the olive itself. Smoking them also changes the natural texture of the olive as well, giving it a slighter softer texture and a bit more chew which makes them feel meatier. Can you tell we loved them?
