Burnaby, BC

We were extremely lucky to be invited to a media tasting even at this newly open restaurant. Located in a retail mall complex on Marine Way and Bryne Road in Burnaby with ample amounts of parking as well as other store you could visit to tackle a few errands at one, BC Liquor store, Save on Foods or TD Bank so a great one stop shop spot.
Inside is bright, clean and lots of spots to sit being able to accommodate small or large groups. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. As you can see in the picture to the left, we had quite the spread and was able to try a lot of the menu items.
Where to start, the spread was so big it was a bit overwhelming but when theirs a will, there is a way!

1. Deep Fried Tofu
Light, crispy, savory squares of goodness with the right amount of season. Not greasy or overly fried, the green onions and chillis added a nice touch of heat to balance out the sweetness of the chilli dipping sauce.
2. Deep Fried Wontons
Pork and shrimp wontons deep fried serves with sweet chilli sauce. Like the tofu, these were not greasy or heavy and tasted very fresh. Nice ratio of pork and shimp with neither overpowering one another. Very well balanced with ingredients, seasoning and crunch.
3. Minh's Roll
If your a fan of spring rolls and salad rolls that this is definitely going to be your jam. They take a deep fried spring roll and then wrap that inside a salad roll giving you the best of both worlds. Hot/cold, soft/crunchy, just a roller coaster of textures and flavors.
4. Bin's Nuggets
Deep fried chicken nuggets seasoned with salt, pepper, and chili. Little deep fried balls of goodness reminded me of a elevated chicken nugget.
5. Chicken Wings (Taste of Vietnam)
The name says it all, with flavors of citrus and spice mainly coming from the lemongrass. Wings were large, plump and crispy. A very solid execution for wings.
6. Deep Fried Prawns
Black tiger prawns deep fried with panko breading and served with sweet chili sauce. Sweet crunchy and meaty prawns, these were fried perfectly without being to hard or soft. Despite sitting for quote some time while we took photos, they remained crispy and not soggy albeit cold by the time we got to it.
He also had a large variety of different main dishes all executed very well and all tasted fresh. Outstanding ones of the few in our opinion was teh BBH and Sate soup. BBH was rich in flavor, light broth with a good amount of spice. Sate soup was packed with flavor and super rich but not in an overpowering and heavy way.
7. Make Your Own Bowl with Shrimp
8. Pork Belly Wrap
9. Minh's Specialty Noodle Soup
10. Bun Bo Hue Noodle Soup
11. Pork Belly on Rice
12. Sate Noodle Soup

13. Bahn Mi (traditional and brisket)
Last but not least you gotta have the Bahn Mi, this is a very popular menu item here and is an extremely popular takeout item. Its very common for them to be sold out of these.
All in all we were very pleased with how everything tasted despite being cold but the owner was more than happy to give up additional broth or remake anything that was too cold.
I have returned at a later date as a paying customer to taste this food fresh and it did not disappoint.
