Was excited to hear a Surrey location had opened up. Save the drive all the way down to Vancouver.
We ordered their Xiao-Long Bao Steamed Buns | 小龙包, Pan-Fried Pork Buns | 生煎包 and the Peaceful House Stir-Fried Noodles | 和平炒面
Xiao-Long Bao | 小龙包
These little pockets of joy are filled with minced pork, ginger and a savory a sauce all wrapped in a thin dough then steamed to perfection. Traditionally each one of these bao's are suppose to have exactly 18 folds on top to seal in all the goodness. The skin is rolled out into rounds with a slightly thicker center for sturdiness with edges thinner to give you that translucent and light texture.
Pan-Fried Pork Buns | 生煎包
These buns are filled with pork and scallions then cooked in the pan from the raw state and then fried to get that crispy bottom. Then water or stock is added and then covered to steam until cooked. This gives you a nice and fluffy bun with a nice crispy crunch on the bottom. The ratio of dough to meat was a bit off swaying heavier to the dough ratio. Flavor was great but if the ratios were more in line, these would have been very good.

Peaceful House Stir-Fried Noodles
| 和平炒面
Hand cut noodles stir fried with seafood, pork, vegetables & chilli garlic sauce. These were good but nothing to write home about. The noodles were nice and chewy with a nice bounce to it when you bite it. There was ample amounts of sauce to coat all the noodles till the last one without the dish drowning in sauce.
